On the sidelines of the informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States taking place in Turkestan, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov.
The parties reviewed matters related to further strengthening Uzbek-Kyrgyz relations of friendship, good-neighborliness, and comprehensive strategic partnership.
The leaders expressed satisfaction with the dynamic growth of bilateral trade and the advancement of cooperation projects in industry, agriculture, water management, and other priority sectors. Cultural and humanitarian exchanges are also expanding.
The practical implementation of high-level agreements was discussed. Particular attention was paid to measures aimed at accelerating major regional projects in energy and transport connectivity, including the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway.
The Presidents also exchanged views on key aspects of the regional agenda and reviewed the schedule of upcoming high-level events.
