As part of a working visit to Pakistan, the Governor of Navoi Region Normat Tursunov held talks with the Managing Director of “Omni Group of Companies.
The Pakistani side was provided with information regarding the favorable investment climate established in the Navoi Region for foreign investors. This included details on current tax and customs incentives, the availability of free economic and small industrial zones and opportunities for implementing joint investment projects.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to the region's potential in mechanical engineering, metalworking, and the production of spare parts for industrial enterprises in the Navoi Region. Given that the enterprises within the “Omni Group of Companies” operating in the sugar, cement, energy and agricultural sectors have a constant need for various engineering components, it was noted that establishing mutually beneficial cooperation in this area is highly promising.
In this regard, the parties discussed establishing a joint venture in the Navoi Region specializing in the production of engineering spare parts, as well as developing industrial cooperation with local manufacturers.
Taking into account the Pakistani company's extensive experience in the agro-industrial sector, an exchange of views also took place regarding the feasibility of producing sugar from sugarcane and sugar beets in the Navoi Region, along with the introduction of water-saving varieties of rice and potatoes.
The proposal for the deep processing of chemical raw materials produced by JSC “Navoiyazot” to manufacture high-value-added products - including construction materials, components for the pharmaceutical industry, and chemicals widely used in agriculture and industry - sparked great interest from the Pakistani side.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to develop specific investment projects for the localization of engineering spare parts production and the manufacturing of chemical products. An agreement was also reached to organize a working visit by the leadership of “Omni Group of Companies” to the Navoi Region to study the projects on-site and continue practical negotiations.
