Foreign Minister had several meetings in Berlin

On February 11, a delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov held a series of important meetings with representatives of the German side in Berlin.
The visit program covered activities aimed at further developing political, trade-economic, and investment cooperation.
In particular, a meeting took place with Katherina Reiche, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy of Germany. A very promising trajectory in economic cooperation between the two countries was noted. Trade has doubled in recent years, the joint investment portfolio exceeds $10 billion, and cooperation is expanding in green energy, industry, critical raw materials, and workforce mobility. The sides agreed to intensify trade and investment dialogue and advance concrete projects ahead of upcoming bilateral business events.
During the visit, Bakhtiyor Saidov held a comprehensive discussion with Johann Wadephul, Germany’s Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs, on expanding the strategic partnership. The parties are aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation in key areas such as trade, energy, and regional stability. The importance of strengthening economic ties through initiatives like the Uzbekistan–Germany Business Council and upcoming summits was also highlighted. Confidence was expressed in further advancing the partnership and in welcoming the German colleague to Tashkent in the near future.
A meeting was also held with Eduards Stiprais, EU Special Representative for Central Asia. It was noted that the Samarkand and Brussels Summits marked a new stage in the Uzbekistan–EU strategic partnership. Preparations for the first Central Asia–EU Inter-Parliamentary Summit in Samarkand were reviewed, and the opening of the EIB Regional Representation in Tashkent was welcomed as a milestone in strengthening investment cooperation.
At the Central Asia – Germany Business Forum, it was noted that Uzbekistan has been consistently implementing large-scale reforms, creating an open, stable, and investor-friendly economy. The event was assessed as an important platform that gathered like-minded partners committed to building reliable supply chains and launching new investment projects at a time of global transformation.
Strong potential was emphasized for deepening cooperation in green energy, mechanical engineering, electrical manufacturing, and construction materials. The sides look forward to welcoming partners to the Tashkent International Investment Forum this June and to further strengthening the strategic economic partnership.
