November 18 – National Flag Day of the Republic of Uzbekistan

The flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan was adopted on November 18, 1991, at the 7th session of the Supreme Council. This day is one of the most important historical dates, expressing the firm belief in the independence, national identity, unity, and cohesion of our people.
Today, the flag of Uzbekistan, along with the flags of the independent states that comprise it, flies over the UN headquarters in NewYork.
After all, every flag has its own history, an image similar to the image and character of the country to which it belongs. Every element of our flag has been carefully crafted. It is inspired by historical roots and noble symbols. Each color, each symbol on our flag has its own meaning. Blue reflects strength, peace, and stability. White has always symbolized purity and innocence. Green is a symbol of rebirth and renewal, as well as our native nature, our age-old values, and our faith. The red stripes represent the blood of our ancestors in our veins – a sign of eternity. This symbol, embodying the independence, pride, and lofty goals of our homeland, calls each of us to unity, dedication, and responsibility service in the name of the development of our motherland.
The staff of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Pakistan congratulates all our compatriots on November 18 – the Day of Adoption of the National Flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
