President of the Republic of Uzbekistan took part in a solemn military parade in Beijing

On September 3, as part of the official visit program in Beijing, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in a solemn military parade dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in World War II, held at Tiananmen Square.
The event was attended by leaders and representatives of more than twenty countries, including the leaders of Russia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Iran, Vietnam, Egypt and other countries.
In his address, President of China Xi Jinping emphasized the importance of preserving historical memory, maintaining peace and ensuring justice under current global conditions.
The parade featured 45 formations of the People’s Liberation Army of China. The latest models of missile systems, tanks, aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles produced by Chinese defense industry were showcased.
Such parades have been held in Beijing since 1949, while the most recent grand military review taking place on October 1, 2019 involved around 15 thousand participants.
The participation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the ceremonial events in Beijing became yet another confirmation of the consistent foreign policy course of our country, aimed at strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between nations, as well as developing constructive dialogue at regional and global levels in the name of peace, sustainable development and prosperity.

The intensive program of events of the official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the People’s Republic of China has concluded.
On August 31, the Head of our state together with his spouse took part in the informal events of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit held at the Meijiang Convention Center in Tianjin.
On September 1, the leader of Uzbekistan participated in the events of the regular meeting of the Council of heads of member states of the SCO and meeting in “SCO plus” format, during which he put forward a number of initiatives on further strengthening multifaceted cooperation and improving the activities of the organization.
On September 2, negotiations were held in Beijing with the President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping with the participation of official delegations. As a result of the meeting a solid package of bilateral documents in priority areas of practical cooperation was signed.
A meeting with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin was held, during which the leaders discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation.
The Head of our state also held productive meetings with Premier of the State Council of China Li Qiang, heads of foreign delegations and representatives of the Chinese business circle.
On September 3, President of Uzbekistan took part in a parade in Beijing dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in World War II.
Concluding the events of the visit, the Head of our state departed to Tashkent. The high guests were seen off by officials of the PRC at the airport.
