President of the Republic of Uzbekistan receives the Ambassador of France

On August 14, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic Aurélia Bouchez, who is completing her diplomatic mission in our country.
The Head of State especially noted the fruitful work and personal contribution of the French Ambassador to the development and strengthening of strategic partnership relations between the two countries.
It was emphasized that the mutual high-level visits made it possible to bring Uzbek-French cooperation to a qualitatively new level, filling its agenda with concrete content.
A systematic dialogue and active contacts have been established at various levels. Significant progress has been achieved in the trade and economic sphere: in recent years, trade turnover has increased fourfold, projects worth more than $10 billion are being implemented with leading French companies and organizations.
Important programs are being carried out in the fields of education, healthcare and cultural-humanitarian exchange. Exhibitions at the Louvre and the Arab World Institute were held with great success.
In the suburbs of Paris, a monument to Beruni has been opened. A street in the capital of France has been named in honor of Samarkand. This year, the Uzbek-French University in the city of Tashkent will begin its work.
In conclusion of the meeting, President of Uzbekistan awarded the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France Aurélia Bouchez with a “Dustlik” order for the major contribution in strengthening Uzbek-French relations of friendship and strategic partnership.
The Ambassador expressed deep gratitude to the leader of our country for the highest appraisal of her diplomatic mission, and sincerely thanked for the comprehensive support in developing full-scale cooperation between Uzbekistan and France.
