Uzbek-Pakistani Business Forum Held in Tashkent

On February 26, Laziz Kudratov, the Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan participated in the Uzbek-Pakistani business forum held in Tashkent during the official visit of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Uzbekistan.
The delegation from the Islamic Republic of Pakistan included heads of ministries and departments, financial organizations, industry associations, and leaders from over 100 major companies. Notable participants included Al-Rafiq Enterprise, MG Khan Traders, Trans Industries, FWO, Pakistan Mobile Communications Limited (Jazz), Veevo Tech, the All Pakistan Goods Transport Owners Association, TCS, CKA Shipping & Logistics Pakistan, Trans Fast Logistics, Nutro Group of Companies, Pharmaro Pakistan, Najeeb Fibers, Saimi Exports, and AJ Associates, among others.
The speakers at the forum included Mansurjon Rasulev, Acting Director of the Agency for Attracting Foreign Investments under the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan; Ullah Ata, Counsellor for Trade and Economic Affairs at the Embassy of Pakistan in Uzbekistan; Zhasurbek Choriev, Deputy Minister of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan; Nasir Ziyo, Deputy Director General of the National Logistics Corporation of Pakistan; and Oybek Elmuratov, Deputy Director of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry, as well as the Founder of LLC ‘Pharmaro Pakistan.’
During the presentations, forum participants were informed about the favorable conditions established for foreign investors in Uzbekistan, the measures implemented to protect their rights and interests, and the country's substantial industrial and investment potential.
Particular attention was given to the potential for enhancing investment collaboration in sectors such as transport and logistics, multilateral trade, the textile industry, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and other areas. The parties emphasized the unique opportunities available to exporters through the preferential trade agreements of Uzbekistan and Pakistan, which facilitate access to significant regional markets as well as markets in developed countries.
In addition, the business forum featured a ceremony for the exchange of bilateral documents between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry, as well as agreements in the areas of transport, logistics, and leather goods production.
In the course of B2B and B2G meetings, Uzbek and Pakistani businessmen discussed opportunities for implementing investment and trade agreements and added new contacts to their business networks.
The Forum program continued with its official proceedings, featuring the participation of Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Shahbaz Sharif, the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
