President of Uzbekistan discusses the current progress and prospects for implementing reforms
On November 22, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Suma Chakrabarti, the Advisor on Economic Development, Effective Public Administration and International Cooperation.
The progress of implementing the Uzbekistan 2030 Strategy within the framework of the State Program for the current year and the prospects for advancing reforms next year were reviewed.
Particular attention was paid to the issues of training and advanced training of public administration personnel.
Further steps in the process of Uzbekistan’s accession to the World Trade Organization were discussed at the meeting. The need for accelerated harmonization of national legislation with the rules and requirements of the WTO and continued work to improve the country’s position in global rankings was emphasized.
The President noted the importance of timely implementing all planned projects and supplementing the strategic agenda with new initiatives, especially considering the objectives of the Year of Environmental Protection and Green Economy declared in the country.
