President of Uzbekistan advocates for expanding practical partnership with Vietnam
President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has held a meeting with Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Pham Minh Chinh on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in Kazan.
The sides discussed issues related to the development of Uzbek-Vietnamese multifaceted cooperation and practical interaction, primarily in trade, economic and investment spheres.
The sides emphasized the importance of systematizing intergovernmental and interdepartmental contacts. The sides spoke in favor of holding a regular meeting of the Joint Commission on trade and economic issues, as well as a business forum and an industrial exhibition in Hanoi early next year.
In order to promote new projects, it was proposed to prepare a program for the development of industrial cooperation in such areas, such as petrochemicals, electrical engineering, textiles, agrarian and other sectors.
Special attention was paid to increasing business and tourist exchanges, including through the establishment of visa-free regime.
The schedule of upcoming high-level contacts was reviewed. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh invited the President of Uzbekistan to pay an official visit to Vietnam.
