Uzbekistan – Pakistan: Cooperation in priority areas enhances
On August 23, 2021, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan – Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov held virtual talks with Advisor to the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Abdul Razak Dawood.
The parties discussed the implementation of the agreements reached following the visit of the Prime Minister of Pakistan to Uzbekistan in July this year.
The sides expressed their readiness to continue joint efforts and implement the planned measures to deepen cooperation in trade, economic, industrial, investment, transport and logistics spheres.
The agenda included issues of cooperation in preparation for the signing of an Agreement on Preferential Trade between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
The development of the roadmap indicating the exact mechanisms for the implementation of the agreement on trade and transit, signed in July this year, and the responsible persons of both parties were noted.
The parties noted the prospects of cooperation in transport and logistics and expressed their readiness to take effective measures to ensure sustainable transit. Issues of deepening cooperation in the banking and financial spheres were also discussed.
