Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan met with the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media

Today, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Muzaffar Madrakhimov met with the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media, Jan Bratu.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that in recent years, Uzbekistan’s cooperation with the OSCE and its institutions, in particular with the Office of the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media, has reached a qualitatively new level. Prospects for further expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest were discussed.

The parties expressed their readiness to implement joint projects, including enhancing media literacy and the professional skills of journalists and press secretaries of state bodies through various training sessions and courses involving foreign experts and specialists.

As part of the visit, the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media, Jan Bratu, will take part in the 25th Central Asian Media Conference “Ensuring the Viability of the Media for an Informed and Sustainable Society”, to be held on November 13–14 in Tashkent.
