President of Uzbekistan holds a meeting with the heads of prominent Chinese companies

On September 2, as part of the business program of the official visit to China, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the heads of leading companies of this country.
The event was attended by executives of China Gold, China Coal Resources, China Datang Corporation, Tianjin Rail Transit Group, Poly Changda, Tianjin Urban Construction, Jinchuan Group, China Synfuels, Jinchuan, ST Wonderful, Mizuda, World Agriculture, Dongzhu Ecology and other companies.
The Head of State noted with satisfaction the traditionally high interest of Chinese businesses in Uzbekistan. Last year alone, investment volumes exceeded $10 billion.
During the meeting, prospects for the implementation of cooperation projects in the field of energy, geology, agriculture and water management, chemical and jewelry industries, modernization of public transport, as well as infrastructure and tourism development were discussed.

As part of the business program of his official visit to China, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with chairman of the board of directors of China National Building Materials (CNBM) Zhou Yuxian in Beijing.
The Chinese CNBM, ranked among the world’s top 500 companies, is one of the largest conglomerates in the fields of construction materials, renewable energy development, engineering and technical solutions.
The company’s plans to implement promising projects such as the modernization of pumping stations, construction of wind and solar power plants, energy storage systems, as well as the localization of component production for renewable energy facilities, were discussed. Particular attention was given to the company’s participation in the program on enhancing energy efficiency in industrial enterprises.
To accelerate and ensure practical implementation of the reached agreements, instructions were given to adopt a separate “road map”.

During the visit to Beijing, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the chairman of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) Dai Houliang.
China National Petroleum Corporation is one of the world’s largest energy companies, which specializes in hydrocarbon extraction and processing projects both in China and external markets. The company’s market capitalization is over $200 billion.
It was noted that CNPC’s direct investments in Uzbekistan have already exceeded $5 billion.
Plans on expanding investment cooperation with the Chinese company and promoting projects on underground gas storage construction, infrastructure modernization, and introducing advanced metrological standards and innovative solutions, were discussed.

The next item on the business program of the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Beijing was talks with the chairman of China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) Shen Yanfeng.
China National Nuclear Corporation is the largest state-owned enterprise in the field of civilian nuclear programs. The company operates the full project cycle from uranium exploration and enrichment to the construction of nuclear power plants both in China and abroad.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Head of our state congratulated the chairman and the entire CNNC team on the 70th anniversary of China’s nuclear industry.
Issues of the implementation of promising projects in Uzbekistan were discussed. Special attention was given to the company’s participation in advanced technology transfer and development of uranium deposits, geological exploration of prospective areas, and expansion of cooperation in the field of peaceful nuclear energy.

Henan Investment, one of Chinese leading companies in the field of energy and infrastructure development, implements projects in construction, industry, energy, ecology and healthcare. The company’s assets exceed $50 billion.
Practical aspects of implementing cooperation projects in Uzbekistan, including introduction of advanced technological solutions for the development of coal deposits, design and construction of modern power plants, energy storage systems, production of bioproducts, and waste processing for clean energy generation, were discussed.
The Head of our state instructed to adopt a separate “road map” for ensuring timely implementation of the projects with participation of the Chinese company.
