Presidents of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan emphasize the importance of expanding strategic partnership

On the sidelines of the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, a meeting was held between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
The President of Uzbekistan warmly congratulated Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the high-level organization of the global UN Conference, held in the International Year of Peace and Trust, and sincerely expressed gratitude for being awarded Turkmenistan’s prestigious state award – the Order “For Contribution to the Development of Cooperation”.
Current issues related to the expansion of friendship, good neighborliness, and strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan were discussed in the context of preparations for upcoming high-level events.
The dynamic growth of mutual trade, the deepening of cooperation in industry, energy, transport, agriculture, and water management were noted with satisfaction. Active interregional and humanitarian exchanges are ongoing.
The importance of ensuring the effectiveness of the planned meetings of intergovernmental commissions, the Business Council, the Regional Forum, and several cultural events scheduled for this year was emphasized.
An exchange of views also took place on the regional agenda, and the schedule of upcoming high-level meetings was reviewed.
