Information presented on major transport projects

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was briefed on the implementation of significant projects in the transport sector.
As the economy develops and the pace of life accelerates, the demand for transport infrastructure continues to grow. It is projected that by 2030, passenger traffic through Tashkent will reach 15 million people. However, the current capital airport lacks the necessary capacity and, being located within the city limits, cannot be expanded.
In this regard, plans have been made to construct a new international airport in Tashkent region. At present, proposals from foreign companies are being considered within the framework of a public-private partnership mechanism.
During the presentation, officials provided detailed information on all aspects of this large-scale project.
In recent years, investment in road infrastructure has also increased significantly, with active construction of new facilities underway. To ease traffic congestion, projects for alternative routes are being developed. For this purpose, a revised draft law “On Automobile Roads” has been prepared, aimed at creating a favorable investment environment.
As a result, interest in the project to construct an alternative high-speed highway between Tashkent and Samarkand has been expressed by companies from several countries.
Officials reported on the outcomes of negotiations and the proposals received.
The Head of State emphasized the importance of thoroughly reviewing these strategically significant infrastructure projects and called for their prompt practical implementation.
