President of Uzbekistan underscores the importance of expanding trade and economic cooperation with India
On the sidelines of the ninth meeting of the AIIB Board of Governors, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation of the Republic of India led by Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman.
At the beginning of the meeting, Nirmala Sitharaman conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the head of our state.
Issues of further development of Uzbek-Indian relations of strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation in accordance with agreements at the highest level were considered.
The importance of effective preparation and organization of the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission in November this year, and adoption of the Industrial Cooperation Program within its framework was emphasized.
Particular attention was paid to the implementation of projects in energy, petrochemicals, digitalization, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, as well as the development of transport corridors.
