President of Uzbekistan participates in the joint meeting with the leaders of German business
In accordance with the program of the visit in Astana, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev participated in the joint meeting of leaders of Central Asian countries with heads of leading German companies and banks.
The event was also attended by Federal Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
German business circles were represented by the heads of such leading companies and banks as KNAUF, Gunter Papenburg, CLAAS, Siemens Energy, Aurubis, Ernst Klett, Siemens Healthineers, Herrenknecht, DB Engineering & Consulting, Svevind Energy, Rhenus, HMS Bergbau.
Having warmly welcomed the participants, the President of Uzbekistan noted with satisfaction the successful results of the fruitful meeting with representatives of the German business circles held the day before in the city of Samarkand.
It was noted that the results of the negotiations demonstrated the growing mutual interest of business in deepening cooperation, implementing joint projects based on German best practices and innovative technological solutions.
The Head of State paid special attention to issues of further expanding business partnership with Germany in the context of regional cooperation.
It was emphasized that the Central Asian region today is a significant and dynamic market demonstrating sustainable rates of economic development.
This was facilitated by the opening of interstate borders, creation of necessary conditions for the growth of intra-regional trade turnover, investments, cargo transportation, and tourist exchange.
The leader of our country emphasized the importance of increasing the investment attractiveness of the Central Asian region.
In this context, during the summit, an initiative was put forward to establish a permanent platform for mutually beneficial dialogue - the Council of Investors and Entrepreneurs “Central Asia and Germany” with holding its first meeting within the framework of the Tashkent Investment Forum next spring.
The Head of our State also proposed to prepare a “road map” for expanding investment and technological cooperation between the countries of Central Asia and Germany, which could include mechanisms of state support and stimulation of investments’ inflow of German companies, as well as financial support for their activities in the countries of Central Asia.
Today, special economic zones and industrial “hubs” are being created with partners in the region with the support of joint investment funds and companies, major projects in industry, “green” energy, agriculture are implemented, and infrastructure is being modernized.
In order to support such projects, leading engineering centers, investment and industrial enterprises of foreign countries are actively involved.
The President invited German companies to actively participate in the implementation of regional cooperation projects on mutually beneficial terms.
At the end of his speech, the President of Uzbekistan expressed confidence that regular dialogue with the heads of leading German companies and banks in this format will open up broad opportunities for mutually beneficial multilateral cooperation.
