The President of Uzbekistan holds a phone call with the President of Kazakhstan
On August 27, 2021, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The President of Uzbekistan expressed his sincere condolences to the President of Kazakhstan in connection with the tragic incident in Bayzak district of Jambyl region, which led to human casualties. Readiness was expressed to provide the necessary assistance to the Kazakh side in eliminating the consequences of the emergency.
The current issues of Uzbekistan – Kazakhstan relations were considered. The positive dynamics of the development of multifaceted cooperation were noted with satisfaction. The importance of promoting cooperation projects in trade, industry, agriculture, transport and logistics, tourism, cultural and humanitarian exchange programs was noted.
The Presidents also exchanged views on the regional agenda, primarily in the context of the aggravation of the situation in Afghanistan. An agreement was reached to continue close cooperation on security issues in Central Asia.
